Individual Counselling Services

In Individual Counselling, counsellors utilize various techniques, assessing individual needs in initial sessions.

 

Some of these techniques may include Emotionally Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). We acknowledging the impact of social structures and family systems on clients’ challenges. Our practice is trauma-informed and based on Attachment Theories, focusing on developing secure attachments influenced by early experiences.

 

David J. Wallin emphasizes the importance of therapists' self-awareness regarding their own attachment styles for effective client support. Our therapists work on self-awareness and have all engaged in their own therapy. They know what it's like to sit on the couch. 

 

During the first session, your therapist will discuss your concerns and assess your mental health needs. She will develop a plan with you about future sessions. Length of time in counselling depends on on many variables.
